Acceptable Use Policy

MyRingRing is for real conversations between a business and its own customers. These rules keep our numbers trusted by carriers and protect the people you call and text.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. It applies to everyone who uses MyRingRing, including your team.

1. Calls

  • No robocalls. Don’t use MyRingRing to place automated, prerecorded or artificial-voice calls, or to dial lists of numbers.
  • Follow telemarketing laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule, the National Do Not Call Registry, state rules, and Canada’s Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules and National DNCL.
  • Respect calling-hour limits and honour requests not to be called again.
  • Only show caller ID for numbers you are allowed to use. Never spoof or hide caller ID to mislead anyone.
  • Follow the call recording consent laws that apply to you and the other person. Some places require everyone on the call to agree.

2. Texts

  • Only text people who have given you permission, such as customers who contacted you or asked to hear from you. Keep a record of that consent.
  • Identify your business in your messages, and honour STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE and similar replies right away. MyRingRing blocks further texts to people who reply STOP.
  • No bulk or marketing blasts to purchased, rented or scraped lists.
  • Complete carrier registration (10DLC) before texting from a US number, and send only the kinds of messages you registered.
  • Follow our Messaging Policy, the CTIA Messaging Principles and carrier rules.

3. Prohibited content and uses

Don’t use MyRingRing for:

  • fraud, phishing, scams, or impersonating another person, business or government agency;
  • harassment, threats, hate speech, or content that exploits minors;
  • illegal products or services, including illegal drugs, and texts about cannabis, firearms, gambling, adult content or alcohol where carriers or the law restrict them;
  • high-risk financial offers such as payday loans, debt relief, credit repair or crypto schemes, and third-party lead generation;
  • malware, or links that hide where they go;
  • reselling MyRingRing, or running a call centre or auto-dialer through it;
  • trying to access other customers’ data, or interfering with the service or carrier networks.

4. Emergency calls

MyRingRing can’t call 911 or other emergency numbers. See our 911 disclosure.

5. Enforcement

We, our carrier partners and the mobile networks monitor for abuse. We may block calls or messages, suspend numbers, or close accounts that break this policy, that carriers flag, or that we reasonably believe put the service or other customers at risk. Fines or fees that carriers charge us because of your traffic may be passed on to you. Where the law requires, we cooperate with law enforcement and with traceback requests from the industry.

6. Reporting abuse

To report a call or text from a MyRingRing number, email support@myringring.com with the number, the date and time, and what happened.
